He was born March 28, 1922 in Duluth to Sam and Lena Krovitz. He is a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy and took part in the Normandy Invasion. He married Esther Goldish. He worked in the grocery business as a meat cutter. Maurice was a member of Adas Israel Synagogue and was a past president. He was also a member of the Jewish Fellowship Club and of the Duluth Area Meat Cutters Union. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed fishing and cooking. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Hyme and Sam; sisters, Rose and Alice. Maurice is survived by his wife of 60 years, Esther; children, Sue, Diane, Ida (Fred), Ben and Steve; brother, Abe; sister, Ann; grandchildren, Mara (Bill), Sam, Heather, Jonathan, Eli, David, and Jeremy. GRAVESIDE SERVICE:11 a.m. Thursday, July 20, 2006 at Adas Israel Cemetery on Howard Gnesen Road. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to donor's choice.
